As the year comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what makes the McKenzie Community Track & Field so special — and it always comes back to you, our community.
Our track is open to everyone — students, athletes, families, walkers, and visitors — a true gathering place for health, connection, and pride. This past year, we’ve hosted middle school, high school, and even professional-level track and field meets, including the OSAA District Meet. We’ve also welcomed participants from all over Oregon for events like the McKenzie River Trail Run and the Oregon Trail Gravel Grinders, as well as countless community gatherings that bring people together in the heart of Blue River.

The McKenzie Community Track & Field isn’t just a place to run — it’s a hub of resilience and renewal. With Wi-Fi access now available and our ongoing PIER Funding project, we’re working to enhance the site with a permanent picnic shelter and shower facilities — upgrades that will serve both our community events and the occasional Fire Camps that find refuge here.
This year, we also cleared a beautiful pathway around the old mill pond, made possible by hundreds of yards of wood chips donated by Rexius of Eugene. The path has already brought new life to cross country at MCTF and offers a scenic walking loop for residents and visitors alike.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit operated entirely by an all-volunteer board, we rely on the generosity of people like you to cover our ongoing monthly expenses — utilities, maintenance, and operations that keep the facility open and welcoming to all.

As you consider your year-end giving, we hope you’ll include the McKenzie Community Track & Field in your plans. Your tax-deductible donation helps us sustain and grow a space where everyone — from young athletes to lifelong walkers — can come together, move, and belong.

With gratitude and community spirit,
The McKenzie Community Track & Field Board
