Community Efforts Revitalize Our Space
We're just a couple of days into spring, and there's a refreshing new look to the track, especially the pond. Throughout the winter, Cliff Richardson organized small work parties. Their goal was to cut back, burn, and control the blackberries. He has been joined by multiple dedicated volunteers, including Don Dow, Tim Hooten, Terry Herndon, Gene Flint, and Sonny Willis. Then, of course, there's the ever-present Weiss family. They arrive with chainsaws, weed eaters, and a built-in crew of minions ready to help.

So far, we have managed to clear the view in front of the pond and open up the walking trail. Once the weather improves, we plan to widen the path even more. Our goal is to clear the view all the way around the pond. This effort will enhance the beauty of our surroundings and provide a welcoming space for the community.

The Importance of Community Involvement
The entire existence of the track relies heavily on community involvement. Every task, from mowing the lawns to restocking the toilet paper, is accomplished by volunteers. Track meets are also run by volunteers. The board members are all volunteers. Many members don’t even live in the area, yet they believe in the track and all it stands for.
Community engagement is vital. It encourages a strong sense of belonging and connection among local residents. Our efforts not only beautify the space but also foster friendships and camaraderie.

Partnerships That Matter
This entire facility came to life thanks to the generosity of Aaron and Marie Jones, as well as many community members. These individuals willingly gave up their time and shared their skills to contribute to this project.
What was once a wasteland has now transformed into a place where the McKenzie Valley can gather. It’s a shared achievement, representing the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of our community. Everyone plays a role in this transformation, and it's truly inspiring.
Celebrating Our Achievements Together
The success of our community events is not only seen in the physical transformation of our track. It’s most evident in the relationships we've built along the way. Those connections are just as important as the projects we undertake.
Building lasting relationships requires dedication. It also requires a willingness to lend a hand when others need it. Every small effort contributes to a larger impact.
Moreover, when we collaborate as a team, great things happen. This reflects our community's spirit and resolve. Together, we can overcome obstacles and enhance our beloved track.
Looking Ahead
As we move forward into the spring, the opportunities for improvement are endless. We have plans to engage more volunteers and expand our projects. Let's keep the momentum going and make the track even better.
Getting involved is easy, and it’s a great way to meet new people. Whether it’s joining a work party, helping organize events, or simply spreading the word about our initiatives, every action counts.
If you're interested in helping, consider the impact you can make. Join us in our journey to enhance this community hub!
This is our community. This is what we do. The bond we share is what makes our efforts worthwhile. Let's continue to work together to ensure that our track remains a thriving space for everyone.
